Our Tuesday, June 16th Hometown Hero is Deana Embry of Winchester.
Before the pandemic started, Deana owned and ran a food truck – Mama D’s Eats and Treats, and kept her grandchild three days a week. Once the crisis began, Deana decided to lessen her exposure and stay home. She started making masks to donate back to the community. Deana has been making masks every day since April 1st – she has made 1,240 to date! Deana donates her masks to hospital workers, oncology patients at the hospital in Clark county, grocery store workers, the homeless and those that can’t afford to buy them. She also sells masks for personal orders so she can buy more material and keep making the and ones she donates.
